but the unit bought came with 8 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB; comes with the external subwoofer, a mouse and a tight shoulder bag, pouch for the bulky power supply, manuals and the useless drivers DVD, preinstalled Cyberlink PowerDirector for editing nice videos, gratefully running on the trusty Windows 7 instead of Windows 8.

A long, detailed review for this specific model is not available, but you can find a lot of variable reviews on the web for N56VZ in general, all giving scores north of 80%.

TL;DR Verdict: Amazing display quality. The best in-class laptop sound, by the elite Bang & Olufsen. Good graphics for games through Nvidia Geforce 650M. Brushed aluminum and back-lit keyboard, premium firm build. Doesn't burn your hands when it gets hot. SP/DIF out. Not the most portable machine. Components made by Asus with love. Definitely an excellent choice. A recommended buy unless you have the money to get an Alienware/ Asus RoG or any other Ferrari laptop. To me, his is a VW Sirrocco R, and I am so jubilant with it.

If you live in the USA, also consider Asus N76VZ if you want a 17" screen. I know I wanted one, but it's not available in the middle east.

Gaming: games tried include Starcraft II - Heart of the Swarm; Civilization V; Dark Souls; Deus Ex Invisible War; Resident Evil 5,6; Dirt 3; Grid 2.

Games TL;DR Verdict:  play anything available today @720p with everything maxed and AA smoothly. Or tone it down and go with 1080p. Make sure nothing is placed on the left side of the laptop because the exhaust gets HOT.

Some Hotkey Shortcuts:

fn + F4/F3: turn keyboard lights up/down
fn + F6/F5: screen brightness up/down
fn + F7: turn screen off/on
fn + F9: turn off touchpad
fn + Arrow Keys: media player controls
(more shortcuts for Windows, Office, Firefox, etc.)

Another tip:
A personal suggestion for preserving durability is to take short breaks in the middle of your gaming sessions so that things cool down, or stick to 1 hour gaming sessions. I think this can be applied to all laptops.

Buy this thing. On me.
