What to Install After A New Windows Installation - 2013

1. Start with Wi Fi driver if it's not working out of the box.
2. Display (VGA) Driver. Note that a lot of modern machines today come with an Intel VGA + another VGA (Nvidia/AMD). You need to install drivers for both.
3. Firefox/ Chrome/ Opera  with Video Download Helper, AdBlock Plus, GreaseMonkey
4. 7zip, Java Runtime, Antivirus, CCleaner.
5. The remaining drivers (motherboard, wifi,network, etc.). Don't forget card reader & Bluetooth
6. Vuze
7. Codecs/ VLC Media Player for video, Audacity & MP3Tag  for music enthusiasts. 
8. Skype, Google Talk
9. Notepad++ (NPP), , Adobe Reader & an Office suite (MS Office, LibreOffice, etc.). Extract NPP, into "Program Files" and configure NPP to be the default tool for .TXT from its options dialog.
10. Put back the old stuff on your Desktop and your Documents folder, you hoarder you.
