I faced a problem at first with the laptop keyboard layout. When I wanted to type "@" by pressing the usual Shift+2 combination, it gave me double quotation """", and the backslash button as well was not typing backslash.
The fix goes as follows:
- Start > Control Panel
- Select "Small icons" from the drop down list at the top-right
- Select "Region & Languages"
- Select "Keyboards and Languages" tab
- Click "Change Keyboards"
- Click "Add"
- Select Arabic(Egypt)
- Check Arabic (101) & US
- Click "OK"
- In the "Default input language" section under "General" tab, select "Arabic(Egypt) - US" as the default input language.
- Click "Apply" and "OK"
- Test your keyboard; should work fine now.
